Guest pip
A doubtful expectation.I don t want to be known .I don t want to make money off dogs ,iv e never sold one. When i do its time to stop.Slippery slope.I don t know Gould neither do i desire to and as i said i neither want to meet any other of the dealers who have "dogs chained out everywhere"and all for sale. While hunting with a well known terrierman in England he made a statement which made us loose a lot of respect for him,he said"lads everythings for sale in my yard ,for the right price".Speaks volumnes . 90% of decent terriermen don t sell dogs. With regards to the EDRD article i heard it before that. And with all respect to you B&T would you have a dog like Smithy in your yard and not have a clue where he came from.He didn t fall out of the sky.............Or did he? Guest pip
ALL THE TERRIERS PAST PRESENT ARE THE PRODUCT OF CROSS BREEDING AND DUBIOUS HISTORY ALL RECORDS KEPT BY PEOPLE WHO BREED WORKING TERRIERS CAN BE TAKEN AT FACE VALUE , WE HEAR NAMES LIKE PARKS , BARKER,BREAY ,BOWMAN BUCK, AND WEAR, LONG BEFORE YOUR TIME , THERE LINES ARE STILL SOUGHT AFTER WHY, REPUTATION THATS WHY, THERES, ONLY PARKS STILL ALIVE OUT OF THAT GROUP. ALL CLASS THERE TERRIERS AS FELL TYPE , NUTTALL PATTERDALE, YET GOULD HAS NO ONE TYPE IVE SEEN LAKELANDS BLACKNTAN, BLACK FELLS , WHITE FELLS , RUSSELLS, IVE NEVER HEARD ANY ONE COMPLAIN AGAIN REPUTATION, HE HAS ONE GOOD OR BAD , BUT YOU KNOW OF HIM AS WILL MANY , LOOK HOW MANY HITS THIS THREAD HAS , WHY ALL BECAUSE OF SMIFFY END OF, WOULD I WANT A TERRIER THAT FELL OUT OF THE SKY LIKE SMIFFY FXCKING RIGHT I WOULD I would say that a good few of them men where well before your time too mate.As you say Gould has had his finger in many pies and no they where n t and aren t all good dogs ,white fells ? etc My point wasn t that i wouldn t take a dog like that without knowing his backround BUT if you got that dog would you not do your damndest to find out the history IF you didn t already know.Point being what happened was a very clever move on Goulds behalf .Well known, reputation, even then as most with these "advantages"could trace the ancestry of a dog as good a producer IF he didn t already know. Also let me say that a lot of the really good kennels of black terriers in Ireland are decended from Smithy. So nothing about the dog. Quote Link to post
Guest fell terrier
this dog carried lines back to smithy and blackledges mcoy still have a line from him did i not read on another thread that this dog quit yes you did the dog is now dead i had taken a line from him before he quit sadly the dog was bred to the balls and the bitch i used is also bred well and 100% the reason i took a line from him was that the way he worked i did not think he would of survived like i said the dog was worked hard at least twice a week for a season he had done very well and was probably due to me working him sore that he eventualy threw the towell in but in his short career probably dug more than some dogs ever will in there full working career his father died early you learn by your mistakes when he failled he had been in for two hours and i had dug seven foot he came off no excuses but a lot of dog owners shy away from this kind of depth iam not making any excuses but hard terriers are hard to find and who knows maybe the pup i have from him wil do the job time wil tell what have i got to lose show dogs mine are not workers they are Quote Link to post
Guest fell terrier
Good honest post no point in lying how many people if they were honest still have that dog in there kennell that came awayand still bang on about how god they are once is enough for me he went to another guy for foxin i was honest with him and sadly he did it again and that guy like me was honest enough to put him down a sad end to a dog that knew no reverse and then one day just said thats it i have had enough no warning the week before he absolutley demorilised his quarry that another dog had failed to deal with then the folowing week did that there not machines and some of us need to realise this hopefully his pups wil do the job who knows its all in the blood Quote Link to post

Guest pip
Without getting into a slanging match about white v coloured its a well known fact that they do not produce consistently high % of workers. They look good and i know of a few decent ones infact im looking after a few for a mate but he would admit that they are not the workers or the producers that many coloured lines are.Oh thats unless that you believe that they are all throw backs to the Illfracombe club terriers???I have kept and worked a few but 1 quit for no reason on his second dig in a puppy earth. The other refused to travel even at over 2,BUT they would clean up at shows.I think thats their main purpose in life.
