A doubtful expectation.I don t want to be known .I don t want to make money off dogs ,iv e never sold one.When i do its time to stop.Slippery slope.I don t know Gould neither do i desire to and as i said i neither want to meet any other of the dealers who have "dogs chained out everywhere"and all for sale.

While hunting with a well known terrierman in England he made a statement which made us loose a lot of respect for him,he said"lads everythings for sale in my yard ,for the right price".Speaks volumnes .

90% of decent terriermen don t sell dogs.

With regards to the EDRD article i heard it before that.And with all respect to you B&T would you have a dog like Smithy in your yard and not have a clue where he came from.He didn t fall out of the sky.............Or did he?

ken gould will be remenber for working dogs so far u will be remenber for the man that hides behind the net sign ur name if ur to make statements about anyman ken done more for terrier work in uk and eire than u never know

And Nuttal too then?I know of plenty of terriermen who never kept bred or sold the amount of dogs he did,i hope all the dealers are one offs,now lads don t embarrass yourselves anymore good dogs surely but still a dealer.

Ozzy if you read the posts i didn t dispute any of the dogs aprt from the white fells,also i don t want a reputation or to be remembered .I told you my name the last time you know who i am so im not hiding.And as i said the last time i was talking to you i meant no offence to you.

I think we ll all be in a bad way if we start losing sleep and taking personnally alls said on here.

for me they re all coloured working terriers,blacks,reds B&ts even most mixed and matched and to be honest worker to worker with most,myself included having little or no knowledge of benefits of line breeding the majority are scatterbred working terriers.When i hunted in the fells we contemplated bringing our dogs,glad we didn t as they where flipping enourmous compaired to the dogs the lads where using and using well.The majority of dogs IMO can be traced back to the dealers mentioned but the praise surely has to go to the lads who have been trying to maintain a kennel of dog working to an exceptable standard since Smithy or Nuttals old dogs. :kiss:

you should see the size of the pipe cleaners they use in the states, i think you over use the word dealer if you knew the amount of digging mr nuttall has done over the years, his line of terriers are not my cup of tea but they are proven workers both here and all over the world, gouldy works terriers all ways has but carnt for technical resons be called a digging man , i prefare big strong terriers broken tight coated black, and blackntan , but thats not to say i dont respect other types, i hate this saying but here goes handsome is as handsome dose , you see if working terriers are to survive and they will, we need to pass on good types working types , there will always be sellers and people passing through , so be it , but as long as you have people breeding working types and passing that gene on thats fine by me, in the last few years ive travelled the lenth and bredth of the uk to find terriers i could have picked up the phone and got some , from old contacts, ive been out there and found men who breed digging dogs that also look good , theres no harm in hunt terrier shows in fact there the bEst way af keepin in touch and raising money for hunts and working terrier clubs , like you say the terriers we see now are types not standed and i hope they never become a STANDED black fell type, lakeland type russell smoothb or ruff , big or small , spanable or not , who give a fuxk just as long as there digging dogs, if you like lookers fine if not so [bANNED TEXT],as ALL WAYS REMEMBER YOUR TERRIERS

the amount of dogs the likes of nuttall and gould have bred over the years they are bound to breed the odd good one i bet that the amount of failures is a lot higher than good ens i have witnessed some very good dogs work bred by lads that have kept a tightline ones that you would be proud to own south durham has a dog that if the likes of gould or nuttall owned would be a legend a dog that any man would be lucky to have in his team a dog that does the job i have had two nuttall dogs over the years and not one has made the grade you pay your money you take your chance but the chance is better buying of a true working man not a retired old man and a one armed bandit

B&T just to put things in perspective here theres a Nuttal thread abit back on this section,see how many hits it got.Mostly negative ,jsut because somebodies a dog dealer doesn t mean theyre not a terrierman too.My beef is fellas lining their pockets with hard earned cash of fellas looking to get a decent digging dog ,fabricating peds.,etc etc etc.Breeding for the market or the latest craze or what if some of them even done something ridiculous like breeding welsh terriers to fox and russels to get a type supposedly decended from cfRock through the IBDC?Mad isn t it? Who would think of such rubbish? If Nuttals etc etc are dealers who have lined there pockets by puppy farming then tell me why its ok for some to say that about him and not about KG?

Heres a direct quote from one of the dealers to a lad who had a dog that walked out bred by him."Oh give me it back ,i like a dog to know when its had enough". Then wheres it go?To stud?Sold to the states?Or what would you do with a dog that you bred like that?

Im just curious as if you would do the right thing,which im assuming you would,tyhen why defend these men?
