mark01856 7
i am currently re finishing my rifle, i am wanting the wood stock black and the metal parts silver. last night i put paint stripper on the stock and started rubbing off all the paint, and i could not find anything to strip the blueing off the metal so i am using fine sand paper, which i really did not want to do, but it is coming along fine. i am just wondering what the best way to finish all this off is, and the best finish to use on the wood, as i dont want to just spray on black spray paint, as it may look quite tacky, and what is the best way to polish up the metal parts, as i would like a nice silver finish. any help would be much appreciated. thanks Mark Quote Link to post

victor 10
odnt know much about paint, but if oyu can, dip al your parts in chrome, that would look sweet. but crows and rabbits might be able to see it alot easyer. Quote Link to post
SEAN3513 7
if you strip the metal parts...then rub them with fine wire wool.you will get a fairley flawless finish then spray them with clear laquer to stop them from tarnishing. as for the wood, if you paint it with a matt or satin paint...rubbing down between coats ( probably 2/3 coats should do) with fine wire wool you should end up with a pretty good tactical style finish. hope that helps mark. all the best sean Quote Link to post
