LLOYD 0
last winter a farmer phoned me and said he had some of his chickens taken and could i take a look. This farm has had its fair share of foxes due to him having a lot of chickens and ducks.although i thought i was on top of the problem due to me having a look on the land every couple of weeks and having a cage trap on there.Any way that night went out scanned about with the lamp and seen nothing.starting walking back to farm yard.one more flash about. And here bout 150 yards stood this fox.the wind was going right to it.so i got down looked through the sights and could see it clear as a bell but it was on a bank.one squel it moved bout 20 yards.perfect.LIGHTS OUT.Anyway while walking towards the fox could,nt understand why it had come to the squel when the wind was in its favour.got the fox and as you can see its a whopper and it was a vixen!!!Anyway that week 4 out of 5 cage traps went off and all big healthy foxes and all in 6 mile radius. My friend had heard a whisper that people were catching urban foxes and dropping in the countryside.now i don,t mind personelly but i think the farmers will.Anybody else heard anything.cheers for reading...lloyd Quote Link to post
Mr_Logic 5
Urban foxes are frequently not healthy, but the practice of dropping them in the countryside is common. I've heard tales from Devon of the RSPCA dropping off foxes on Dartmoor from the towns, they all go to the farmers' bins, of course the farmers then use a shotgun or get one of us lot to deal with them, so it's quicker just to kill them in the towns!! sikastag_1 689
iv heard of people droppin fox's in the countryside, a guy i go out with shot 5 in 1 field so this obviously tells me the rumours are true as you would never get 5 adult foxs sitting for 5 shots in a field. Quote Link to post
