DutchRabbit 0
After begging the lady for a few years that it was worth it , I have a 4500 pounds budget and want to hunt rabbits at night with a buddy of mine. Hunted allot in the daytime with an old Diana airrifle, but now I want the material that will give the goosebumps a goosebump Checked some airrifles and NVscopes and made a list, would love your opinions and if someone already has the perfect setup, please let me know. RIFLE- -Theoben Rapid S-Type -S410 Xtra -SuperTEN MK3 Bullbarrel rifle SCOPE- ? 10 to 50 yards ? or a DAY/NIGHT scope ? NIGHTVISION add on's: -SM-3 Series Gen2+ (£2085) - ATN NVM 14 CGTi version (£1,300) see attachment ? Or am I totally wrong here? Kind regards Jeroen Quote Link to post
Guest buster321c
£4500???????????????? i use my s400 and a logun lamp .......................out of that you would get about £4000 change, so book a holiday and surprise her, spend a grand max on the rifle , thats what i would do Quote Link to post
SEAN3513 7
decent rifle, scope and lamp......will set you back £1000 at he most. nv is, in my opinion a waste of time, on an air rifle!! as above with good feildcraft will get you just as many rabbits. and you an send the remaining £3500 to me.... all the best sean Quote Link to post
Coney 3
That's one serious amount of cash for a rifle set up!!.....would'nt be spending no more than £1000 quid on any 12ft/lb set up but that's just my opinion. Quote Link to post

Ok I realize I have saved up to much budget, will take that advice of the Logun lamp and the holiday but for the rest , wich rifle for the rabbits is the best, and is 24 joule enough or must it be 40 joule to not be cruel and have a clean kill? Malt 379
Depends on what range you'll be shooting them at. Even at 24 Joules, you would need a Firearms certificate in the UK. On a different note, I didn't have a clue how the joules-ft/lbs conversion went, but a quick search came up with this: Conversion calculator Might be of some use! Quote Link to post

Thanks maltenby&Sean, the range I need is for 10 to 50 meters, 11 to 56 yards, I can buy a SuperTEN MK3 Bullbarrel rifle with 24 Joule in Belgium and let them modify it to 40 Joule, also dont know the laws about that in Holland, will check that out and post it. but still I need some feedback on rifle and scope chioce, cheers Jeroen Quote Link to post
