Deker 3,491 Posted June 27, 2008 Report Share Posted June 27, 2008 (edited) Out last night up the dairy farm, actually it's sort of more of a rare breeds cow farm with small numbers of interesting looking things in different fields. Terrible night, after deer and Fox (they have a few chicken as well and Charlie is always everywhere I'm not). No sign of either untill late when we saw a Roe ...NEXT DOOR!!!, 2 rabbit all night between 2 of us and then the rains came.....headed back to the motor to find in one of the lanes between the fields a BULL, free and roaming!!! I wandered up to him bold as brass in the hope I could persuade him back over the fence he had half demolished into his field.... Funny...he had other ideas....as I approached he turned away apparently under the impression I was the boss, but then he turned round and walked straight at me stopping within touching distance, ring glistening in his nose, eyes bright with that look that says I weight a TON and more...you after some or what...well, up to that point I had been trying to work out how many beefburgers I was looking at...Steve my mate was well passed that..in fact about 40 yards behind me by this time....and I began to think this might not be a good idea....Steve shouts I'll go and get the farmer....as I back off retainaing as much dignity as possible. Anyway.... no reply at the farmers door by which time the big black bull had wandered along the lane into another empty field which had the gate open...heroically I shut the gate behind him. As I said to Steve as we made our way to the pub next door ..it's always the bull isn't it...nobody would have believed this if it was not for the fact there was the two of us here! Yep...the mean looking black monster...I thought he was big in the field but he's even bigger face to face, and typically we could not raise Alan at all. Steve said he'd give him a call Friday to explain how his bull was in a completely different field to when he left him! Quote Link to post
