ferreting skills needed to control rabbits

Recommended Posts

Hiya I am new to this forum but not to ferrets, currently have 23 at the moment and I have been ferreting with a friend in the past.

I am from Staffs so no where near to where people are asking for help in getting rid of some rabbits. I also have horses and I am a member on the Horse and Hound online forum as well.

It is on that forum I have seen the requests for help in getting rid of some rabbits. I have suggested contacting Countryman's Weekly for one and either placing an ad or contacting them to see if they know of any people.

I was searching on the internet and found this site so have registered in a bid to post the information and a link to the thread which is asking for help.

I have also said that ferreting with purse nets or long netting may be of some use and also the use of hawks as well so if anyone is interested or can help either please join horse and hound and get in contact with these people or pm me through here and I will happily pass on information/contact details to the people who need help.

One is located in Tewkesbury and the other in Henley-in-Arden so if you live near to there and can help or know someone who can then please get in touch.

I understand that it can be difficult sometimes to obtain permission to ferret as my friend has often told me so I saw the pleas and thought it would be an ideal situation for someone to put their ferreting skills to good use and get some free rabbit at the same time ( makes lovely eating, yum).

thanks

Caz

have often thought about stables/fields and rabbit control, maybe the link you have put up will get some rabbiting permission for people, just to remind everyone though, that getting permission this way, most stables would expect you to have full public liabilty insurance
