john b 38 Posted June 13, 2008 Report Share Posted June 13, 2008 There is no legal limit that I am aware of but if the bird is showing obvious signs of distress, illness or other deterioration it should be humanely killed. For example if it's losing lots of feathers, or just sitting listless in the bottom of the cage, or has injured itself on the wire or frame. Any signs like that and it's no longer OK to use the bird.
