Guest bitsa lurcher
i agree but a fair competion has to be set and the dogs have to be put to there maximum capabilitie,i will enter cat, this is her again a nice looking dog mark ...... small and nibble and capable of catching a lot of rabbits , if this style of dog was the best for long ears surely there would be no such thing as a saluki x in this country ???? edited to add ...... just an observation on my part Link to post
whin 463
to me personaly i live in areas were i can run a hare any time on big land when the hares start to show from cover or woods for years and i maybe mean 12to 15 i caught more hares than anything same as roe ,if miles has the guile if he lives on the land he runs surely the odds should be with him but maybe not as mark maybe haVE A TIDY DOG AND MILES MAYBE BE MEDIOCRE its a hard one but i know my saluks would beat my collie cross over hares in a season so there you go make your own mind up bob Link to post

inan 841
Sorry to spoil the party but can any of the coursing lads in the know shed any light for me on a dog called "the beast",any info on him would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance Beast was owned by Paul Noon ,his sire was G.Dickinson's Drax ,his dam Paul's old bitch Peggy, very good dog in his day,a nd he had a litter sister Beauty who was at least as good if not better. I,m still trying to work out how a few pictures and post of Salukis evolved into a challenge for a grand between Miles and Markbrick. Miles is a coursing man ,[preban] Mark ,I beleive, mostly a rabbiting man.I dont know either party so have no side to take, but Mark if you have the money to spare ,I'm sure there are a few "boys ",only too willing to accomodate you ,come the winter, why you would want to match your whippet crosses against purpose bred hare -catchers ,I dont know ,but its your money. If your dogs are genuine and suit you for the job they do isnt that enough for you? Inan. Link to post
