bullsmilk 2
tics breath through there back so if you put some vasaline on them they suffocate and fall off without leaving the head in....a risk when pulling them off.also i would bleach out there penn and burn the bedding butt make sure its rinsed out properly ..... chartpolski 28,425
Should never pull them off, leaves the head still embedded. Any decent pet shop sells tick powder. Cheers. Quote Link to post
Guest quinny1
Alrite mate, In the past i have used surgical alcohol rubbed onto the ticks, if that doesnt work then vaseline is good too. Quinny. Quote Link to post
DiStuRBeD 0
dont know about over there, but here if u grab them and pull em out they can inject poison into you, which makes them itch like hellfire for weeks and weeks, i learnt the hard way and would use it aas a last resort now Quote Link to post
mouse 282
touch the tik with a match that has just gone out then pull off with tweezers.this way you get the whole tick off Quote Link to post
Eggy 0
Do NOT use vaseline, nail polish, alcohol, burning matches etc. etc. Then the tick dies and regurgitates its (infectious) stomach content back into the ferrets/dogs bloodstream!!!! Using fine forceps grasp the tick by its head, and slowly pull it straight out. Or use frontline preventative http://www.placervillevet.com/tick_remove.htm Edited January 13, 2006 by Eggy Quote Link to post
Guest dondog
Don't know if it works but a relation of mine was told to use olive oil, like somebody has already said they breath through their arse. Open the bottle and just stick the bottle over the tic and wait for it to drown. Don't know why it was olive oil may have just been that she lives in Italy and they eat shit loads of the crap. My relation said she had seen it done on a horse in Italy and was told it works on any animal. Maybe even water and a milk bottle will do. Wouldn't use the olive oil after like. Quote Link to post
