cymro 0
Is there anybody out there that can help me or able to give me advice on what to do next?Ive just had my shotgun licence taken away from me by the police. The reason they are giving is that i was involved in a fight last April in a nightclub in my home town, where i defended myself from a drunken p###k+although i came off the worst end of it all and ended up in hospital myself .I was the one charged with GBH,(nothing to do with his mother being a police woman mind!!!!).I pleaded NOT GUILTY and the case was taken to Crown court and there i was found NOT GUILTY and innocent of all charges. But after nearly 10 months they now decide to take my guns and licence away from me!Im gutted to say the least,Ive been proven INNOCENT by a CROWN COURT but im still being punished! So im wandering is there anybody out there that is able to give me advice on this matter and what would be the chances of getting my guns back if i appeal? Guest baldie
They have no grounds to revoke your ticket, get yourself a solicitor, preferably one from the BASC, they love cases like this, fight them all the way, you,ll win. Quote Link to post
pegandgun 52
Why dont you try making an appointment with the Chief contstable and explain that you where defending yourself as everone in this country, has the right to do. That way you might get your guns back without cost, after all he might know nowt about the circumstances. Edited January 19, 2006 by pegandgun Quote Link to post
Deako 0
BASC Firearms department mate...ask for Mike Eveleigh as he was in the Police Firearms dept himself for 20 odd years...he carries some serious clout. Any other convictions you have WILL be taken into account though. Quote Link to post
markbivvy 6
hi cymro you would get a lot more replies to this if you post it on the gun trader site. they have a section for this kind of advice. BASC would be worth joining just for the legal advice, but that will be £50 or there abouts. if it goes to appeal your looking at costs of £1500 or more. Quote Link to post

cymro 0
Thanks for the all the advice mates....Got a good soliciter which has contacts in the police force on the case.He cant understand on what grounds the police have had to take my licence away from me.What happend to the saying...your innocent intill youve been proven guilty?(well in my case ive been found... NOT GUILTY,doesnt that mean im inocent? Not in the police eyes, isnt that a type of discrimination? Quote Link to post
