I have shot a couple of hares with my bsa s10,then farmer informed me he has decide to leave them alone. Quote Link to post

SEAN3513 7
we have a few on one of our permissions.............and the farmer loves em.............easy to tell the difference in daylight..................but when your lamping.....and they sit with their ears down, its hard to tell the difference....!! the way we find out is to walk towards them.......you can usually get to within 10/15 yds of a hare until it runs of slowly....................rabbits 20/25 yards and then boy do they run!!!! personaly.....wouldn't want to shoot hares ( getting soft in my old age) cheers sean Quote Link to post
28hodge 0
Like Sean says we have quite a few on our permission and the farmer lovers the things so we are under strict instructions to leave them alone, easy enough in the light but in the dark with a lamp it can be a bit of a nightmare and we have sat and looked at one or two through the scope before deciding it was a hare and leaving it, but it can get a little close. But i don't know if anybody else has found this they are mega stupid, we got to within touching distance of one the other day, they just don't run the daft bas*ards. I spotted onr in the light once, but as it was quite i thought i would see how far i could stalk in and see how close i could get, safe to say i got close enough to throw stones at it if i had wanted too, but the best thing was when id did run off it only went about 10-15 yards and then sat there again, dozy kucker Quote Link to post
