no they arnt suposed to do that yet still do it!! the idea is to make you slow down not take your hard earned and get you 3 points. at 30 yds off him - expect the ticket through soon unless your VERY lucky, he probably had you way before you saw him anyway. the range on the lidar guns is increadable and even if you had a detector - by the time that goes off on laser your caught! were you the first in a row of traffic, at the back of others, on your own in the road or what?? if your running out of lives it may be worth investing in a jammer and detector but it would of been better off having protection before the horse has bolted..

why not just follow the speed limit? lol thats better than buying a detector isnt it?

they're allowed to hide out over here. if you're on the road enough you'll learn their favourite places to hide so you can speed like a demon until you get to those little cubby holes in the woods. also have to pay attention to cars around you. beware of the Crown Victorias that have antenna on the back, or funny looking things on the grill.. forgot what they're called, but they allow them to ram the crap out of you if they need to! my husband used to install radio equipment in patrol cars and my brother is a cop so between the two of them they've taught me all the neat things to look for lol but its always best not to speed unless you have to.

like i even need to say that lol

actually i got pulled over once - i KNEW the guy behind me was a copper... but i couldnt keep my speed consistent... and i changed lanes without a signal. he pulled me over and asked if i was in a hurry.. i was 7 months pregnant, car full of kids - my cousin beside me snickering - i told him "Yessir... see i have an appointment to have lunch with family and i'm STARVING!!" .. he gave me a warning and let me go lol!!

expect the ticket then Noddy

your right BC, but as you just said - im sure were all guilty of drifting even slightly over the limit. even if its 1-2mph - and those thinking they wont fine you for that well i guess he must of just been having a slow day!

I think your allowed upto 8% over the limit or a small % over and no they cannot hide so i think you can appeal and they suppose to have signs out to say they are doing a speed check.

some states give the cops a QUOTA!! they must issue a certain amount of speeding tickets per month. which is just criminal....

and i've heard of some cops just being ass holes and taking out on the driver. my husband was in a school zone at night - speed limit is different when school traffic is heavy! there was a tractor trailer parked in front of the school zone/speed sign so he was doing his normal limit when the Bitch Cop pulled him over for speeding in a school zone. he went to court to contest it and won.... but still had to pay $200 for the court's time....

and another time while on the way to work husband was driving.. we were going to be late because the cars in front were going waaaaay too slow even for the speed limit - which was 60mph- so he passed them both. oh jeez wouldnt you know, one was a cop. we got pulled over and cited for going too fast for unsafe conditions.... yes it was foggy and raining a tiny bit. while passing my husband had to speed up slightly because of oncoming traffic being a danger... THATS why we got pulled. that cop was just being a prick and going slow on purpose. my husband went to court to contest it and won. but this time the cop didnt show up.... nope! they met a few weeks later and discovered they both loved antique cars and became friends  ...men...
