A dog can only go fat if you feed it too much, so its down to the owner not the dog

So do you tend to have to feed the dog a little less after she has been spayed? And how many hours per day are you dogs exercised?

I had a racing Bitch spayed....she raced for two more years and retired...she never gained weight ...I dont think twice about having bitches spayed..

Some bitches do seem to burn a bit less food after spaying but most eat just the same, just keep an eye on the bitch and adjust her food down a fraction if necessary. How much exercise mine get depends on the time of year, when its very hot in the summer they will get about an hour or so a day, mid-season when they are working - a lot more than that and obviously I feed them more when they are more active and mnore when its colder.

my mrs wanted our terrier done but i played f**k but she had it done its made no difference at all the bitch still works and she hasnt gained a ounce
