:icon_redface: Sorry - I looked at Rolfe's photos too quick and they looked like one of those grassy miscanthus things.....I think I'm due for a new pair of glasses..... :icon_redface:

Here's some pictures from today.........once the flowers drop and the seed pods form........it is sprayed with a type of dessicant to kill it off and then it is harvested. It is also sometimes cut and left to lay in swathes to dry out naturally but there is a high loss of yield with this method as the pods tend to open and scatter the seed.

God, thats beautiful! we dont have stuff like that where i live.... if you're lucky you'll see some large patches of clover with red flowers, but never anything like this!

thank you for showing me those :D

Hate the stuff!...hard for the dogs to run through...the flowers cover their coats in sticky stuff...and the stubble cuts their legs and bellys to shreds when its harvested...nearly all cereal crops round here this year...good money in cereals this year

i probably wouldnt like it much if i had lurchers or running dogs of some sort but there's too many wooded areas for that!

but i do bet thats where all the bunnies go to hide!

The fields are full of rabbits at harvest time here..........they love it to hide in and they can hear any predators approaching........mr fox
