jasper65 6
I had one of these up until a few days ago, one of the Terriers chomped it off the other dog ... It was working perfect stopping this Dog from Barking until it was smashed.... Electric Bark Collar
Guest pip
Not sure if its the same thing jasper, the ones i seen used where for stock breaking, when a dog makes a move for the sheep he gets a jab with the collar. Before anyone says anything these are decent dogs and too good to put down every method has been tried and this is the last chance. Thanks
Guest oldskool
only my opinion mate but they are well worth the cash and they can be very useful if not abused... emphesis on the "not abused"!!! i got a canicolm 800... its got a setting level of 15 and if that doesnt stop them then nothin will... the collar fits all dogs including terriers although the correct setting is important because you can really hurt a small dog... i cant rememeber what mine was exactly but it was in around the £200 mark... its definately a good bit of kit and its something you will always have... just remeber to let him wear it for a couple of days so he doesnt realise that its the collar thats causing the punishment... i made a great job of the greyhound bitch i have... recalling, stock breaking and recently boundary lines have been getting established with it... with regarding sheep and such like, i think it helps to lie somewhere out of sight and watch what the dog does with your thumb hovering over the button... the terrier learn't to chase sheep when i wasnt there but that soon changed when she was being zapped and summersaulted into the air as i was hiding on the roof of the house... 800 metre range and 2 dogs can be trained with collars A and B... collar B is sold seperatel!!! hope that helps mate... johnny4 0
i got a dxt pac collar about 2 years ago and it worked a treat on my terrier he used to be murder at running away and attacking other dogs used collar a couple of weeks and he turned out great but just go easy when useing one as they or not a toy and can really hurt your dog if used to much johnny
Guest oldskool
i think the cheaper models only go to a setting of 5 or so but i think if you have a big stubborn dog then you will def need a setting of 10+
pegleg 0
e collars are well worth thinvestment and work well as long as they are used appropriatly if left on the dog check for sores under prongs i've used alot of models innotech is one of the best but for short range a les expensive model could be used as well just rember to think and plan before using it and be consistent it's a tool not a dog programmer i've seen great dogs ruined by ignorant use of these collars. make sure your dog has a idea of what he's doing wrong first. we use them extensively on our big game hounds and hounds usually arn't as sensitive but can still be ruined. good luck they should be about $120 us for a close range single dog unit 1/2 mile approx range
