richie 1
been reading a few post recently about deben not servicing the mk1 locators & collars... i called them today & asked if this was so, they still do service the locators & collars with an inspection fee of £10. they also said they have no intention in the near future of stopping servicing them.. rich Quote Link to post
comanche 3,310
I wonder how they "service" the collar .Apart being able to clean the terminal or replace a lost cap the things are sealed in resin? Quote Link to post
anton 0
hi comanche, i've been looking into servicing and repairing mk 1 collars and boxes i've put a thread on the general posts about this and been suprised by the responce yes you are right they are sealed but, hold only a crystal oscilator and poss a small amp but, unlikely i can open them up and reseal them best bet is going in where the collar is sealed in at the top anybody got any old u/s collars for me to try ? if i fix them bonus, if not well, the thing were buggered anyway either way i will send it back to you The service could involve a clean, reflow of the pcb and recalibration all of which is not hard the only problem i have at the minute is getting hold of the right spares as deben scrub the numbers off of some of the important components cheers anton Quote Link to post
