Plenty of stuff wrote on here about about good and bad dogs. But what in your mind are the qualities that make or break a dog. Mine are .1 a good owner or trainer. 2 brains . 3spirit determination. 4 speed . Your views please. :signthankspin:

Getting a dog of the cross or type that you really fancy owning helps.I don't mean anything silly like buying a sausage-dog because you love the way they look and than being upset when it fails to perform well at the high jump. Imagine you have an albeit unexplainable urge for , say, a Bengal tiger-hamster cross but the bloke down the road says its a rubbish cross but his wife has a litter of aardvark-gerbils for sale and he persuades you to buy one. Anyway the Bengal tiger-hamster crosses arn'nt ready for another month.Soon as the aardvark/gerbil shows a problem with work or training you might get resentfull ,blame the dog ,blame your mate and blame yourself for making the wrong choice. If however you hung on for the Bengal/hamster cross you are more likely to work through problems in a good frame of mind when things ,as they always do in dog training ,become a bit sticky. Having got all self opiniated I have to admit that my youngest dog was'nt really what I was looking for but I would've had problems with conscience If I had'nt taken her home. My choice though and I'll stand by her ,work through problems and make her in my eyes at least "a good dog".
