spudlington 3
Just looking for advice on whether air pistols are up to the job of humane despatch of trapped squirrels mink fox etc. I have been considering getting myself a 22pistol for target shooting but since geting myself a precharged pneumatic rifle i've been thinking an air pistol might be a better choice. I could use it for a bit of plinking and would also be a more discrete way of humane despatch than carrying a sleeved rifle around. Anytime i feel the need to shoot with something a bit more powerful i can shoot 9mm's etc at the range i'm in. Chhers Spudlington Quote Link to post
RatSnatcher 0
I am not sure about dispatching a fox with one, but I use a tempest it does the job . The only pistol I reckon worth getting is a FN8, but you will pay a lot for the pleasure of owning one Quote Link to post
stubby 175
I thought the same when I got my pestie job, and got a webley hurricane would be better off chucking it at them Quote Link to post
john b 38
Stubby I've found that it's better to have the pistol a little way away from the trap. I started off getting it as close as possible and I swear the pellets bounced off. Few feet away and much better. Quote Link to post

Duzabit 0
Hi there' The best air pistol on the market in my opinion, and i have used a few, is the crossman ratbuster' this is the one i now use all the time. It is ideal for close despatch of live trapped small animals. Also great in enclosed loft spaces for feral pigeons when fitted with a laser. Duz Quote Link to post
