jill???

hi i have a jill here shes swollen down under but looks as though shes been bitten bad and its a bit a of a bloody mess and shes walking sore,shes hasnt got a mark on her neck and i havnt got a clue what happened to her i was away for a couple of days so if shes in season she hasnt been in very long ive not had ferrets long so any help appreacated thanks.???

 

oh shes kept with a hob and two jills and they all get along fine.

right mate i would say that the hob has been on to her ... if she has got marks on her vulva then that is probably sores from having to piss in a dirty corner and her vulva cos its swollen is rubbing on the shit piss whatever .... you need to keep a hutch spotless more than ever when a jill is in season with a swollen vulva ............

first of all get some clean warm salt water and cotton wool and give that a good clean and lets see whats there then .......

impossible to say mate ... only thing you can do now is to get her away from the hob otherwise he will really do some damage to an allready severd fanny ... and clean it wityh salty water at least 4 times a day untill it heals ............

the hob could of made a mistake and got the wrong hole

from what i can make from the picture it looks like she wasnt in season and the hob may have tried to tie with her to early keep her on her own and keep her clean as that could turn very nasty quick all the best phill

Ive just been searching the net and i think its a case of the hob getting the wrong , its supposed to be quite common among ferrets and can result in severe damage if not treated properly? As above clean it with salt water etc... and if it hasent improved over a few days get her to the vet mate .

and i took her straight away from the others the hobs going at the end of the week now anyway...
