dogs-n-natives 1,182
I had quite a few days with the Dalston Mink Hounds a few years back! This season I've hunted with the Tynedale, Braes of Derwent, York & Ainsty South, the North Tyne and the Lidesdale. Leveller what is a rabbit hound pack??? Does the Tynedale huntsman still hunt mink? He used to have some good otter hounds. Quote Link to post

If so yes, starting this weekend & he's got some decent hounds! How have the Border gone this season? Quote Link to post

Do they only hunt rabbits or hare as well? Surely you can't get a very substantial hunt from a rabbit? Nice looking pack of hounds though! Are they all privately owned or kenneled together? chartpolski 27,827
BORDER FoxhoundsAnd in summer, me and a couple of friends hunt our own bobbery pack for mink! Hi, how were the Border ? 30 odd year ago they were, in my mind, the best pack in Northumberland. I just got back into it a couple of years ago, and haven't seen them. I've been out with the Tynedale, canny pack; but I thought the North Tyne were a very poor pack, at least what I saw of them on Boxing Day ! Brae's looked a good pack when I was over Whittinstal last year. I suppose we should be greatfull to have a choice of packs to follow !!! Cheers. Quote Link to post

They hunt rabbit, you'd be very surprised when you saw them go, obviously you'll never get a ten mile point but when they're on they fly. They are all kenneled together privately owned Quote Link to post
Guest WILF
I have been out with the Coniston and the various messers that tag along with them Also a pack in Wales when I was honoured enough to tag along with the famous hunt terrierman that works with that pack! Quote Link to post

Missie 1
I can now add the Devon and Somerset Staghounds and the Tiverton staghounds to my poor list for this season. Quote Link to post
spade 224
This season been with the Belvoir, Quorn and Cottesmore. Most seasons also get out with the South Notts, Fernie and Fitzwilliams but didn't manage it this year. Also went out with my very own rat pack if that counts. Over the summer am going to get out with some mink hounds. Quote Link to post
