Feet problems wuth my terrier

Recommended Posts

Can any one help with a persisting problem I have with one of my terriers? He has well structured feet but every so often they go bad and make him lame. It doesnt matter if its warm or cold wet or dry his feet play up and i cant use him, he's a decent little dog and has served me well over the last 2 years, the other month he got bitten on the front paw and this just added to the problem. He sometimes looses toes and they bleed alot. The kennel is always clean and has saw dust underfoot. Any ideas lads of what i could treat it with? Any one else had this problem before?

Cheers.

Do you work him in rocks at all? Could be a possible cause if he's mainly excercised away from roads and has sawdust underfoot in kennels...

Ye he's used to the rocks mate and the padock out side his run is concrete. His pads are tough and as normal as any terrier i've had, it just comes now and again, strange and bloody annoying when it happens as i have been thin on the ground with terriers this year.

had the same problem and it to was the disinfect i was useing two.could be that.had an other dog who used to tear the pads of his feet and losen nails from diging on but you probaly would notice that.

Thanks for the advice mate, I'm going to change the disinfectant. I give a dog a good check over after he's been worked, and diging on and working rocks does loosen his nail now and agin. cheers.
