Deker 3,478
Just back from a trip to a landowner with a fox problem, sadly no sign of charlie tonight but a handful (5) bunnies. The second was a brilliant shot at around 60 yards which sent brain matter, skull fragments, fur etc into orbit, as the 55g HP found its mark.....BUT, very strange and the first time ever for me (in several thousand bunnies) this one ran 20 feet and then dropped dead. 95% of its whole head etc was GONE, sometimes get a few twitches with this sort of damage but never had one run away before!!! Interesting one, i have heard a story of a chicken, not quite the same but, in the US which survived having its head chopped off as a tiny amount of brain matter had survived allowing it to survive for years after apparently, i think i should stop watching QI, seems i have an answer for everything today. njc110381 0
I took the head clean off a Rabbit with my 12g at about 10 yards once and it ran for quite a way. It's amazing how these things happen, as usually I find they just slump to the floor and maybe kick a few times. I guess that if you get a strong kicker that happens to stay upright by chance it will run until it falls over? Quote Link to post
James@Scarborough 0
I's happened to me quite a few times. Quote Link to post
