ferreterwithnets 0 Posted March 21, 2008 Report Share Posted March 21, 2008 hi just want to now if a 4ft by 4ft by 5ft tall weathering for a small female harris hawk will be ok she will be sat on the bow perch this will be open front and have a front that i can put on at night. please dont have a go at me if this is to small this is my 1st bird i have had her flying free and entered but she is in moult [started 2 wees ago] i have got a 10ft x8ft -7 1/2 ft tall mews for her but i tryed to freeloft her but she was to flappy and banging of the sides for 2 days straite and broke some fethers. so i hat to sit her on the bow she likes it and shes very stedy on the bow so will a 4x4-5 weathering will be ok for her just to sleep in ? thanks all paul Quote Link to post

ferreterwithnets 0 Posted March 21, 2008 Author Report Share Posted March 21, 2008 I would say the weathring could be little bit longer if you have the room and as long as she can spread and flap her wing's without hitting the side's 4ft wide should be fine.. ..On the free lofting bit you will have problem's if the bird is at flying weight and keen..as everytime she hear's or see's you she will bounce about knowing food is on the way or if she spot's a food source elsewhere.. Once she is moulting and fed through a shoot up to fat weight she will calm down and free lofting wont be a problem through the moult .. Millet thanks millet i will give it a go she flys at 2lb and she is 2lb 3 1/4 oz just putting her up to 2lb 5or 6 oz thanks Quote Link to post
