Denny essex 15
10p a bird nowt for sqwabs round our way , tight git stitched me once never again, i give em away , eat em and the dog and cat love em. older birds are a stronger taste best in a pie with some steak etc, sqwabs a much more delicate taste the breast meat cut into thing strips and stir fried with leak onion carrot mushroom or whatever you fancy. last price i heard for europen retaurant price for a pigeon dish (where most of the dealers birds go) was £16. Shame its not eaten more in this country its a tastey meat, Whittinstal has tried ! Quote Link to post
masmiffy 82
Around 15p our way but thats for frozen. Prob about 500 a time!!! Price of carts now its hardly worth it, you need to shoot at least 2 per cart now!!! Cant believe lead is that expensive, if it is no wonder the travelling crowd nick it! In China I hear carts are way below half price of UK!!!! Just a quick thought as per Holdaway I did get up to 50p each about 20 years ago from my local butcher. Why wont people eat them? May as well moan on what about the price for a brace of phesants? Edited March 20, 2008 by masmiffy Quote Link to post
