grasshopper 0
Hia, New to the site, found it when looking for advise on cooking a pheasant. Any one else on here from the Hampshire area? The only shooting I do is airgunning, i've only bagged pidgeons so far which i take the breast meat from. My dad's pretty good and usually ends up with a few rabbits when he goes out. I'm still learning patience... Haven't been for a while though and hoping to get back into it. I use my Dad's old Webly Vulcan, simple but effective! I'm also interesting in snaring and trapping but am currently in the research stages as I don't want make a cack trap so the animal ends up escaping injured. Hope to read more interesting posts and post some of my own adventures soon. Speak to you all soon Harley

grasshopper 0
Hi Harley, I am in the Petersfield area just Northish of you. My main interest is in airguns and decoys, trapping and snaring. Good luck with the hunting and I hope to see some posts from you in the future. H Excellent! There must be a local meet somewhere. Where do you do your airgunning and trapping? I'm still thinking of somewhere I can have a crack at snaring! Harley
Guest Ditch_Shitter
Harley; I'm vaguely familiar with Portsmouth myself. There's some nice roads out of Portsmouth. Any road out of there's a nice one! Trouble ye'll find with doing just about Anything on the 'island' these days is that a dozen other c***s will be there fore and aft. You set a rabbit wire and it'll be checked and re checked for ye. Anyway, they're busily building on the last few places a rabbit could eak out an existence on that god forsaken place. Pound's yard area. Horsea Island. Set foot on Horsea and the skates are the least of ye worries. The Kellards and their good friends, the Stanleys won't take too kindly. Mr Cooper will find ye work first anyway. It's his patch. Officially. Farlington Marshes? Be a bit silly, wouldn't it? There used to be the odd bury along the road there that cuts through it. But a Lot of the people driving along that road have their own designs. Southwick Estate? Now 'Keepered. Stanstead Park? Always has been 'Keepered. West of 'ville? Taken. Anyway, they won't want wires where their cattle go. In fact, just about the whole damn area's sewn up. Pretty much has been for pushing fifty years now. Not sure about if ye pushed further out to the north east? But it'd be a bloody long run just to check a rabbit wire - and that's if there is anywhere ye can get away with it. Thing is, I've even lived in Southwick myself. Got to know the ground there. The local peoples (Farmers) view is that " We get All Sorts coming up over that bloody hill! ". Mistrust bordering on some level of hatred is almost genetically imprinted on the people behind the Hill, mate. Sorry to sound so negative. But ye Really Do have ye work cut out there
