Recommended Posts

I had my visit from the FEO yesterday re my renewal

I had recently purchased a new gun a week ago from a RFD who filled out the appropriate forms and said he'd fax the info to my local firearms dept

anyway the said FEO informs me that i also am required to give written notice that i have the new gun and swipes my reciept to photocopy and return

what do yoy reckon?

Law or his whim??

Sorry chap but I am a little surprised you have even asked the question.

This procedure is clearly written in the notes on the end of your FAC!

A notification of sale, or purchase, HAS to be in writing, and the minimum legal requirement for post, is recorded delivery. Dont use registered, its almost a fiver, and the letter has no monetary value.

Ignore any advice from licensing depts, that say you can notify over the phone, by fax, or by e mail...its not legal.Keep ALL proof of postage slips.
