bruce 0 Posted February 28, 2008 Report Share Posted February 28, 2008 I had my visit from the FEO yesterday re my renewal I had recently purchased a new gun a week ago from a RFD who filled out the appropriate forms and said he'd fax the info to my local firearms dept anyway the said FEO informs me that i also am required to give written notice that i have the new gun and swipes my reciept to photocopy and return what do yoy reckon? Guest baldie Posted March 1, 2008 Report Share Posted March 1, 2008 A notification of sale, or purchase, HAS to be in writing, and the minimum legal requirement for post, is recorded delivery. Dont use registered, its almost a fiver, and the letter has no monetary value. Ignore any advice from licensing depts, that say you can notify over the phone, by fax, or by e mail...its not legal.Keep ALL proof of postage slips. Quote Link to post
