Rolfe 2
I have been offered a sirroco in mint condition, the lads getting rid of some beautiful guns that he has collected all in beautiful condition, the one i fancy is the sirroco he wants £200 for it fitted with a scope, i know very little about air guns my last one was a webly vulcan many years ago and a falcon before that. I have a Theoben Sirocco and can highly reccomend them............for £200 if it's mint.........bite his hand off. They are gas-ram powered.........you don't say though if it is FAC rated........check first before buying. The only fault i find with them is........ they can be a bit on the noisy side. Rolfe. Guest ROOSTER
thanks mate he is in his mid sixty's and has collected airguns for years and i mean collected he does fire then at paper targets to see how they perform and then he puts them in a strongroom and admires them he has a hw77 that he uses around the ground around his house their are a few trees and every now and again he takes it into is head to shoot anything that that lands, now he is selling his guns apart from one or two as his son his moving out and is only interested in motorbikes not guns, he worries what would happen if anything happens to him and what will happen to his collection i mean this lad has approx 25-30 air rifles, he has given the gun to me to try for a week if i can get a pic up i will but im not good at that.he said its firing at 12lb but can be adusted via a valve at the back. stillair1 16
There are quite a few Sirocco models made. The earliest had Webley barrels which were later changed to Anschutz. They can be dated from the serial number. Production started in 82/83.The ram pressure was increased when the HE (High efficiency) models came out. Check the shrader valve cover screw for screwdriver abuse. This may indicate a tinkerer and possibly the rifle has been pumped or is leaking. A quick run over the chrono will give a true indication of its power. A few of the models would be off the top of my head: Sirocco, Deluxe, Grandprix, Sirocco Countryman, Sirocco HE, Grandprix HE, Sirocco HV (FAConly) Later evolved models were the Taunus, Olympus and Fenman. Guest ROOSTER
i'm getting good info thanks lads, it says sirroco h e on top and the screw at the rear has been opened its not damaged but you can tell the slot in the screw head has had a driver in it. Quote Link to post
stillair1 16
Hi Rooster, the very early models had a sloping back at the rear of the cylinder, the later ones are vertical. Where is the safety catch if it has one. The serial number is engraver on the underside of the barrel breech block btw. Re reading your thread properly as it's an HE model then it will be later than 1991. The last model sirocco was the sirocco 2000 usually identifiable by the full length transporter silencer. stillair1 16
Hi Rooster yep tis a sirroco with a long series silencer and HE as you say. A bargain at the money would be tempted myself, would look good in the collection. TB 8182 made in March 1994, about the last year of that model of Sirroco before it was revamped to the Taunus iirc.
