snareman 3
Just got our first squirrel today!!, caught it around the midsection, a rookie move lol, but we'll get'r figured out. anyways, we're getting some racoon snares soon and i was wondering if you gentlemen had any tips or pics of sets that you have made. you would be better using 220 bodygrip traps , and killing them , in a bucket , i have used these a lot ,along with the egg trap stapled to a tree , and cage traps , i have some good pictures of coon caught in egg traps , and the damage that they have done to peoples lawns , we don,t have raccoons over here except odd escapees of which have been snared and trapped , my old mentor sandy livingston snared one 40 years ago , my brother inlaw,s brother killed one over twenty pounds in his hen house , i saw one a few years back while fishing a local river, it was a big boy , it was spotted 2 miles downstream a season later , my mate who is a pro. trapper in canada whom i trap with every year was bitten three times in seconds as his hands slipped of a big boar coon transferring it from a trap into a cage trap , as you are not allowed to shoot them in city limits , he was called to an area where there were so many , that they wanted them controlled quickly , we set 50 baited buckets and had 40 coons next morning , had to use a boat for the job. i,ve snared a lot of coyotes , and beaver also .
