richie 1 Posted February 18, 2008 Report Share Posted February 18, 2008 i saw a youngen running back into cover this sunday. also when i was gutting a few rabbits a couple of weeks back, 3 of them were carrying, its part & parcel. part and parcel of what richie??? global warming?? weve been ferreting for over 30 years and used to reckon on never seeing a milky doe from september to april. part & parcel of ferreting... reading your first post, by saying "you were mortified to find several litters of babies " the impression i got that you were upset ? thats why i replied by saying part & parcel. a lot of ferreters decide to stop when they see young. i personally dont see any difference in dispatching a youngen or an adult. all the farmers i do rabbit control for expect me to remove as many rabbits as possible. i would say that climate change plays a big part in what we see these days, but like ive said in previous posts, a rabbit is a rabbit... In the area we were shooting, it's pest control, so they'll be treated as any other rabbit. It's not nice, but it's part of the deal. It's a price we have to pay for our sport there, i'm afraid.
