help...sick ferret

Hi all, on tuesday i was cleaning out my ferrets hutch.. I put them in a little pen on the lawn. I thought all my dogs were fine with ferrets as they had grown up with them all there life. Halfway through cleaning out the hutch i heard squealing i ran out to the lawn and i saw my spaniel had my hob ferret by the neck. Within five minutes he was dead.. I am gutted.. My jill had used all her "scent" and she seemed to be very shaken up but apart from that she seemed to be unharmed.I put her back into her hutch... She went straight into her sleeping area and i let her sleep for the rest of the day.. I made sure she was drinking and i gave her some warm milk for tea. It is now friday and there is still no improvement. She is sleeping all the time and when i want her to have something to eat i actually have to go and get her from her sleeping area. It is really starting to worry me and I was wondering does anyone know what could be the matter?? Thanks for help.

well it is probably shock , take her indoors & keep her warm and try to make sure she gets some fluids i am trying to find a link for you hang on

no im not judging "ooh lady who has an opinion on evrything" but if a dog has hold of a ferret for 5 minets it probably will die

Any news if the ferrets in it's bed all the time thats deep shock all you can do is keep her warm and give her liquids

my ferret got a grab of a lurcher bhe bit it back and never missed a beat hope your ferret is better if not on the recovery of good health mate.

ye what i meant was i took him off the dog straight away and within 5 minutes he was dead. Anyway, the jill is much much better today when i went to feed her she was at her door scratching for some food!! I think she is over the worst of it now. thanks everyone for help
