Guest MOLLY
This is my sis's terrier Daisy. She started off with a small but thick and crusty patch on her back last year. I clipped her today and now it is much worse, its like very coarse dandruff?? Moll.
juckler123 707
Whats she being fed on Molly could be diet and the long coat might be better stripped all the time. If shes not on some fish already id give her sardines and pilchards in oil and give a evening primrose capsule daily for a week or two
BlueCoyote 0
i agree with the above. it looks like rain rot on a horse... but in this case its probably just severe dry skin.. give her a more oily diet.. especially fish - as already mentioned - i used to fry eggs for my dogs and it kept their coats slick with a nice shine to them - horrible gas though...... littlefish 598
I started my dogs on oil of evening primrose (from Holland & Barrett) about six weeks ago. One of them has sensitive skin that 'flares up' maybe twice a year, it goes weepy and bald and then crusty before healing up again. Since starting on the evening primrose oil their coats are already smoother and they are definitely shedding less, so I think it is working well from the inside and i will keep giving it to them. It might be worth a try with that dog. I'm usually very sceptical about alternative stuff like homeopathy and one time the vet gave me a skin wash and stated that GLOVES MUST BE WORN while using it - i'd rather steer away from stuff like that truth be told. jultaylor1972 2
MOLLY, my old dog Toby had a similar thing once, believe it or not - I put Coconut oil on it after trying LOADS of different things and within 2 days it was gone??!! It might be worth a try?
