Deker 3,495
I've recently got the HMR version, but I suspect all the Synthetic are the same basically. I am big fan of CZ, I have 2 x .22LR, 1 x HMR and 1 x WMR all new at the time and all model 452. Over the years I have felt no need to change as they all performed very well out of the box and continue to, even now. Just a bit of fettling with trigger springs etc upfront. They are all field guns and get a lot of use. Anyway, I got the urge to get a new 457 HMR in place of my 452. (My 452 HMR was very probably the first sold in the UK as I got it from the dealer first thing in the morning the day after the first batch arrived at the importer in the UK). Unfortunately, I have been sadly disappointed. I have had issues the the studs, which are moulded into the stock, this has given me issues fitting both a sling and the bipod, eventually overcome with fettling. Then the magazine feed has been a problem, with the last round jamming. I eventually found the solution, as this is not uncommon apparently. The bolt is also very stiff to lock, still working on that one!! So, it's given me a lot of grief and frustration, which is not what I expect from CZ. On the plus side, it does shoot straight! philpot 5,185
As you say these guns shoot straight and whilst the 452 and 455 seem a bit out of date.............they just work. The 452 I bought recently is more accurate than my Tikka albeit the 452 has a longer barrel which may well contribute to that but on one perm it consistantly produces head shots at 107 and 105yd (two lasered points where the rabbit come out of the warren and on zero for the other warren at 60 - 70yds. Don't get me wrong, the Tikka T1x was a nice to use but I did not enjoy the results I now do with my 452. Phil Quote Link to post
