islayhawk1 0 Posted Saturday at 08:51 Report Share Posted Saturday at 08:51 Started making another long net to pass the time then realised just how big a task its going to be but I will persevere. Do longnetters who make their own nets knit the net or buy a bale of netting. If a bale wheres best place to buy from. Quote Link to post
netrigger 600 Posted Saturday at 17:26 Report Share Posted Saturday at 17:26 Most will just buy a set up or sheets of machine made netting ,, doubt many folk are kicking them by hand these days ,, I'm knitting one at present,, but just doing a bit now and then ,, you can buy the sheets ,, 4z nylon up to 12z from advanced nets who have a web page ,, think they are out of stock at present though ,, but probably due a delivery soon 2 Quote Link to post

netrigger 600 Posted Sunday at 05:34 Report Share Posted Sunday at 05:34 I personally wouldn't use anything above 6z ,, the mesh size are usually 4" to 4 1/4" (full mesh) . 1 Quote Link to post
TOMO 29,446
I knitted one a few years ago...in fact I started it well over 10 years ago...it wasn't until 2 summers back I actually rigged it up....I did about 20 yards...and rigged it on two poles as a stop net at about 7 ..8 yard...lol....its some kind of double thread spun polly thing...and with so much bagging it don't half tangle them up... 1 Quote Link to post
