James Whale has died aged 74 of cancer after being diagnosed in 2000, having been told he had 3 months to live he was an interesting character with great phone ins and shows over the years RIP James.

Very sad.....listened to a few of his shows of late he took his last days like a man fair play.....went out with a lot of pride,a lot of decency and a little bit of wit.....Rip

And it was really nice to hear that he had accepted his situation and went out with a smile, many years ago when I used to be on the roads driving all over the UK James Whale used to keep me company on the radio and it made the monotony of driving long distances pleasurable, I remember driving along howling with laughter at the madness of his shows, definitely a great loss.
