I have cleaned it up and placed in a rabbit hutch in Isolation. This morning there was again discharge. Anyone had this happen before, and what is it. stubby 175
had a quick look in the ailments section of a ferret book, the only "ear" related stuff is from mites, causing an infection in the middle ear, is he/she scratching the ear, or black specks visible as with any syptom, my only advice would be to get to the vets quick/ or PDSA if its just an infection/abcess, its still gonna need anti-biotics Quote Link to post
Kay 3,709
Yes i think its a vets job, its pretty uncomfortable when you have an ear problem yourself so the ferret may be in pain Quote Link to post

Took the fert to the vets, checked for mites etc could not find a thing, still a watery discharge. Vets gave me drops and a £28 bill. I asked what it was an all I got was an ear infection. !!!! ask a silly question. Quote Link to post

I know the feeling I took a hob to the vets, as he had a scabby patch on back of neck, £25 later and fert was given an injection and some cream and told to come back week time, keep isolated etc. on getting home, posted on here, and had multiple replies, that it was where hobs were mounting hobs, randy gits, at a later visit to vets, tried telling her what the earlyier visit had been down too, she completely dismissed it as wrong, so I told her to stuff it and found another fert friendly vet some stuff on here, can be solved with a question, but certain things you need peace of mind from a vets, but maybe next time the same question is asked by another, you can give the advice of ear infection, buy some stuff from the chemist Quote Link to post
