mitre 275
BECAUSE OF EVIL 18 OLD BROUGHT A SHOTGUN AND FAKED A FIRE ARM LICENCE KILLING ALL HIS FAMILY AND TRYING TO GET IN TO HIS OLD PRIMARY SCHOOL TO KILL THE YOUNGEST IN THAT SCHOOL If you read what he got up to faking a licence killing all his family he meets the seller paid more then what he was selling for and even filming himself practising with a block of wood and gets sentenced to day I don't own them type of guns but it's not that easy even to get a full true shot gun licence with out properly checking their background I heard of other people getting away with similar crimes so looking at it a other thing the government will be poking their noses in just like Tony Blair BANNED HAND GUNS 1997 still no difference there is always a bad apple in a cart Quote Link to post
Borr 7,812
Well it shows weakness in the current system at least he wasn't a licensed holder, the can't tighten gun control if a clever kid forged a ticket. Quote Link to post
Stavross 18,085
It shows a problem with the licensing process, it’s all done online with my firearms department now, if it allows you put a made up certificate number in then that’s a problem, the system should be set up so it checks the certificate number as you enter it, same way as when you enter a password, if you get that wrong it won’t let you continue, if they did it the old way by just filling the transfer out then the person sell the shotgun would have no way of knowing it was a fake certificate, that way should be scrapped and your certificate number should have to be checked be firearms to verify who you are Edited March 19 by Stavross Quote Link to post
mitre 275
I do agree very cunning for faking a license and they should have checked the number on the licence as they check up on other things like bill letters or birth certificate numbers they should have double checked Quote Link to post
jakethompson 6
This case highlights a flaw in the current system—if a fake certificate can be used, the process clearly needs better verification. An automated check for certificate numbers, like passwords, should be mandatory. Sellers need a way to confirm legitimacy instantly. More restrictions won’t stop criminals, but fixing weak points in the system can prevent this from happening again. Quote Link to post
mitre 275
I be honest when I've sold any any air rifle I have always careful as the best as I can knowing where it's going to if the person is the right age not under 18 which I was pestered by a 13 year old for a air rifle I checked up his details on social media and I refused to sell it him silly girls too early 20s being too totally stupid requiring one again a no no. I nothing against any gender but there are alot people who dumb enough to do damage as they have no or little knowledge of a air rifle as its a weapon or could classed as a firearm by someone and the laws over here in the uk are slightly different to up in Scotland I know shotguns always had to have licences police check ups in the past seeing if everything is safe and locked up that person was very CUNNING TO FAKE THAT LICENCE AND REALLY I THINK THE FELLOW WHO SOLD IT TO HIM IN A CARPARK SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE CAREFUL IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER TO MEET AT A LOCAL GUN CLUB AND CHECK HIS DETAILS PROPERLY AND THERE WOULD HAVE OTHER GUN OWNERS THERE TOO OR TO A GUNSHOP WHERE A SALES OF THAT SHOTGUN COULD HAVE BEEN ARRANGED AND THEN MAYBE THAT SHOP COULD HAVE PICKED UPON SOMETHING OF THE LICENSE Can't be too careful with some people stupid of not knowing or complete wicked to cause harm Quote Link to post
