lurchergrrl 1,441 Posted February 11, 2008 Report Share Posted February 11, 2008 Well at least he didn't throw her off the back of a van ffs We might not agree with giving up on a loyal working dog - I for one wouldn't have just gone and got another - but he didn't leave her tied to a tree in the middle of nowhere, or let her languish and starve to death in a shed or any of the other horrific fates some "humans" inflict on the animals they're responsible for. Give him a break. He got her a home, and she'll probably be much happier where she's more appreciated. If folks attack people when they actually make an effort to get their worker a pet home, nobody will want to bother in future. There's heaps and heaps of people who are happy to have a weekend moocher on their sofa, and there's plenty of ex workers who are happy as lairy to have a sofa - so encourage people a wee bit instead of slapping them round the ears. Asshole ! Well it's attitudes like this that keep a lot of ex workers out of pet homes. It's not cool to just fob off a loyal dog at the drop of a hat, but it's far less cool to dump it/shoot it because you can't be arsed with the flack people give you for retiring it and rehoming it. The guy asked if anyone could give his dog a good home, the reason for him getting rid of the dog is erelevent if it ends up with a good standard of living.
