Achilles-13 3
Hi all I’m looking for a shooting sticks-tripod and found about three, the primos, rifleman and fiery deer. The two latter are almost half(!) the price of the primos… has anyone on here tried them? They will only serve for the occasional quick shot with an air rifle after very short stalks.( fac, invasive geese shot on sight within our permitted area, all cleared by law and permits) and for shooting from chair here and there if the rabbits make a mess in the horse paddocks and the owners complain. So no long stalks in all kinds of weather,… thank you. atb A.
philpot 5,089
A very late response as I never saw this post, I am sorry for that however I have used the Primos tripod for a number of years and have to say whilst there are some other systems on the market, some seriously expensive and some quite cheap, the Primos has proved to be really good bit of kit. Both my shooting partner and myself never go shooting withour taking the Primos with us. It has my vote. Phil

Since you’re shooting from a chair or short stalks, you don’t need the durability of Prinors. I’ve used the Fiery Deer for similar pest control - it’s lightweight and stable enough for air rifle ranges. Just check the locking mechanism; some budget models wobble if not tightened properly. Welcome aboard Chris. You have to bear in mind you have products in the US that we do not have in the UK and the two you mentioned certainly are not ones that I have come accross, interesting to know what id used over there though.
