Guest SJM
Looks blue and tan to me, if you part the fur and its black right through to the roots, then the pup will probably stay dark. Cracking pup, good luck with it Quote Link to post

Dawn B 212
ALL blue and tan Borders are born black and tan, they get the "ticking" as they get older, which makes them look blue, by a few months old, you should see the evidence of it. Quote Link to post

Guest SJM
As a matter of fact, if blue and tan borders were a "true blue" as in the blue we see in whippets/greyhounds etc they would have blue noses which I dont think blue and tan borders have? Someone correct me if I am wrong but arent blue and tan borders actually genetically black and tans which are just given the name blue and tan? As I have yet to see a blue and tan border with a blue nose all the ones I have seen have always had black noses. Now a true blue dog cannot have a black nose unless its a blue merle. Just a thought for those who think they know it all to ponder on Quote Link to post

Guest SJM
I think you will find Kerry Blues arent a "true blue" as in the colour seen in weimeraners, whippets, greyhounds etc, they dont possess the dilute gene which is the reason why their noses are black. True blues are dilutes and therefore cannot have a black nose, same as chocolates are a dilute of the red gene and always have a red nose. Have a look here it will probably explain it better than I can http://www.tibimaxe.business.t-online.de/u...e/blaugrau.html Quote Link to post
