Guest basil46
I found this a while ago, hope it helps. There is a condition called "waardenburg syndrome" which apparently can affect a silver to silver breeding. Symptoms are .... 1. White stripe along the top of its head. 2. White toes and knees. 3. Wide set eyes. 4. Slightly flatter skull than normal (not really noticable) 5. Deafness. Colours linked to waardenburgs syndrome are silvers, black eyed whites, blazes (which have badger type markings with a white stripe down the middle of its head) and pandas (which has an entirely white head and neck area with no mask) These findings are not set in stone, they are the results of research done over a period of years. (not my research) I keep silvers myself, i haven`t put silver to silver, generally silver to albino as i think you get a better class of ferret. This year i`m putting a silver hob to an fitchy jill because they`re outstanding workers. It is my belief that there is nothing stopping you putting silver to silver as long as they are not related, that i think is where the problems start. basil. Quote Link to post
