Greyman 25,276
As I’m always near water it may seem amplified to me but I just witnessed for the third time a sparrowhawk taking swallows on the wing, but not in the normal way a spar hunts, they seem to join in with the swallows as they are swooping around low over the water for insects then without deviating from there path just pick one out and go, almost like learned behaviour, was curious if anyone else has witnessed it at all

Greyman 25,276
Saw one on Saturday morning with a swallow off the marina and may have been the same one flying around a foot or two above the surface this morning amongst all the swallows nesting under the bridge outside on the canal also watched one do it when I was fishing a few years ago up in Staffordshire which I assumed was a one off but having seen it twice in the last week thinking it may be more common around water maybe
