The Meath Foxhounds Dog Show Saturday 24thJune 23

I love the role I play in our great Country Sporting Dog Shows and Race days in the summer months and  in conjunction with our show organisers North and South of the border. This role can be quite diverse, demanding and at times challenging, but above all most enjoyable. No two shows are a carbon copy of the last one, with each show and each day being totally unique in their own right.

The Meath Foxhounds Dog Show on Saturday the 24th June was no different.  The day arrived bright and early, with clear blue skies and miles of sunshine beaming down on us all day. With the car loaded up, we headed up the motorway to the Meath Foxhounds venue and their now annual Dog Show.

The show venue was top class with  freshly mown grass and show rings well spaced out. Very soon the field filled up with cars, trailers, dogs, and families, and all out for a care free day in the summer sunshine. The show organisation was impeccable with showing starting bang on time and all went without a hitch.

It was nice to meet up again with many regular show goers and also some visitors.  Burgers, Ice cream refreshments and beverages were on sale on site all day. The little people played around and enjoyed themselves rolling about in the freshly mowed grass. Some tired little feet on Saturday night.

Time flies by, and very soon it was time to start the showing.

A special word of thanks to Dr Thady Lynch who spoke so eloquently about the show and its winners, and presented the trophies to the Overall Show Champion Peter Morgan and Reserve Champion James Mullen, and many thanks for that.

I know John Henry, you put a lot of hours and sleepless nights into bringing this show to a top quality standard, and let me tell, you  succeeded 100%.  John, Many thanks to you and your team for your kindness and hospitality to me around the rings on the day.
