Roe culling

Recommended Posts

Yesterday afternoon I set off with my mate to cull some of the roe on his ground. Only 2 does have been taken so far so a few need thinning out.

The weather forecast had changed and the winds were now 40mph hence no roe out in the open where we were expecting them so a change of plan saw us heading to the lea side of the big wood where it was sheltered.

Almost immediately I spotted 4 roe edging along the side of the wood heading for a rough corner where they always head to. We made a large circle to get the wind right and were soon within 60 yards of them in some cover .

To cut a long story short we grassed all 4 of them shooting 2 each ?

A great result in challenging conditions.

Yep I would soon sort them but its not my ground.

Good news as I was elected at the shoots AGM to shoot the pigeons and crows on 1000 acres as nobody else bothers.

The area is great for both , place is alive with the blacks so cant wait to get on it this year ?
