Out last night for a change on the rabbits .Getting a few about so as I’m need of dog food I went to a field I know is heaving .

Not a very good night tbh ,still ,very still but hey ho .Pard and dragonfly on the .22 ,thermal on and there’s a rabbit just the other side the gate .On sticks and it rolls over .I walk past it as there’s plenty out there .Shot  3 more in a row and happened to glance back at the first to see a fox trying to gather up the dead rabbit .I was about 160 yards away so closed the gap rapidly and set up expecting him to be long gone but he wasn’t .Slotted him between the eyes at about 60 yards .Big dog fox ,beautiful condition .4 is plenty for now but I’ll be back .

Nice mate .Puts me on 6 this year .Saw 5 munties in the adjacent wood barking their heads off at me .Field I was in was full of snipe too but no woodcock .Ground still a tad frozen but watched several going at it with worms in the pard .
