Octet Stream / PUB File ....?

:wallbash: Just been sent some very important information. I asked a simple but vital question and here's my answer. Only they've sent it as " Application / Octet Stream. Pub File ". What bloody good's that to a man with XP? Why do people do this?

Anyone got a clue how I might view it, please? Is there anything I might get (FREE) from CNet? I've never had one of these before and likely never will again. Got no money anyway. What a pain in the arse these things are.

Thanks.

Just done a .PUB search on google, and the only program that came up was 'Microsoft publisher'. I don't know if it's free or not, but you should be able to find out on the Microsoft website. (somewhere!) Hope this helps.

Edited to say:

Just checked the 'Microsoft at home' Website, and found a trail version which probably means you have to cough up for the full version.

Thanks for the efforts, lads. Seems it's a no go.

I mean; Just what is the point is some outfit lashing out for this Micky Soft crap that enables them to make " A stunning presentation " out of the one sentance answer to a simple f*cking question, when only someone else with nothing else left to spend their money on can See their " Presentation "?!

If you have Microsoft office xp you should have publisher, right click it DS and use open with and select publisher if you have it,

From what I can gather on this type of file is that if you are using outlook it will be able to open it, the problem seems to be that it has been sent on a workstation file format ....Cant you get them to send it again in a different format Ds?
