Ken's Deputy 4,463
Me, again! Bit simpler, this time, I hope? Tools? I once saw a bit on you tube; Random bloke 'fitting a three pin plug', or what ever. Thing is, he used some fancy little bits he slipped over the ends of the multi strand wires he poked into the little holes. I always twist these wire ends in my fingers. Try to make them tight and tidy, so they don't catch on the edge of the hole. Drive myself mad with it! What are those bits called, please? I want to get some. And will a C.K 495001 Automatic Wire Stripper put them on? Cheers, lads
Chid 6,905
Wire ferrules and you need the correct tool to do them properly
Ken's Deputy 4,463
I've got some wire ferrule pliers here. Used to clinch ferrules over 1.2mm wire 'rope' (String?) But, these ones look too thick to get in the holes in 3 pin plugs. Think they might do for the plug wire ones? What size would they be? What's the " Crimping Tool " on my CK thing for? Wouldn't that be it? It's the correct ferrules I need.

Ken's Deputy 4,463
Oh Bummer. Well, considering I likely won't be using the tool / crimping - ferruling anything more than a dozen or so times in the rest of my life; Any suggestions as to what I might now look for, please? I searched Amazon. All I seemed to find was £20 - 30+ crimping tools. Some with like a box of 200 + assorted types and sizes of crimp things. A dozen of the fukking things will probably out last my uses. But, I'm happy to buy 100, if that's how they sell them. Just need to know What. Wire strippers are a god send. Everyone on Toolfix is saying that. I'd dearly love to take it up the next level and not have to play with those stripped ends.

Even if you use ferrules your still going to have to strip and twist the wire , could always run a bit of solder over the ends of the wire
Ken's Deputy 4,463
Ah! Thanks. Didn't know that. All sounds a bit pointless then. Oh well. Hell of a bonus, no longer having to have at it with a fukking stanley blade, anyway. Paring down the new flex is always the worst part.
