3/4" planks onto a 1 1/2" frame <-- Sizes aren't nominal. More the actual thicknesses. Outside use.

Fukk Google! It made my eyes bleed!

Cheers!

4 x 50 or 5 x 50 for a bit more bite.

What's that, Don? 1 1/2 - 2" long?

Everything I'm looking at is talking about 5, 6 and 8 sized screws.

Here we are; I have two boxes of screws here. One says " 6 x 1 1/2" " They're skinny little screws. Inch and half long.

Other box says  " 5 x 100mm " They're a shade thicker and 3 7/8" long.

WTF?! I thought the higher the number, the thicker the screw?

How can so simple a question turn, so fast, into such a mental gymkhana?! :wallbash:

Sorry, Don! With ye now!!! ? Box of 200 5 x 50's now on order! :boogy:

I finally ~ with the help of a passing mate! ~ managed to realise that I was talking Imperial. You were talking Metric. And Google was talking god knows.

It also appears I've once put screws into random jars, since emptied of the screws I'd labelled them as? So, I'm looking at what I Think is x sized screw, in my hand.  It actually being nothing to do with the size the jar says it is!

FFS! I may very well throw my screws out and start afresh. Maybe taping an actual screw to each jar?

I recently bought a load of drill bits? I put various sized holes in a bit of wood. Labelled them. Then couldn't fathom why some of my screws dropped into what should have been their sized holes ....? I'm not safe to be out!
