Winter Lamping - what do you use ?

Recommended Posts

I use hand held torch and also a deben tracer pro, its the stock mounted battery version which gets a bit heavy after a few hours and the run time on the battery is pretty low, anyone recommend their set up or where you can get spare batteries for the Tracer Atom Pro...................

Me and the lads use a "Lightforce SL 170 Striker" complete with shoulder carrying bag, 17 amp battery and red lens cover, we get around 2.5 hrs lamping out of a full charge and as for the red lens cover it's perfect for rabbits. If you are looking for a spare battery try E-bay first before lashing out good cash on the highstreet. The only set back with our kit is no-one wants to lamp and everyone wants to shoot and you cannot use this kit on your own.

Hope this helps

I use a deben tracer max pro, 12v, scope mounted with red and amber filters, it also has the dimmer which is really handy. Get about 3 hrs good lamping with one battery, a little longer if its not on full power. Nice piece of kit for a scope mount.

However, the filters fit but are not snug and happilly rattle away so a little duck tape would be recommended

If you fit it to a springer its a bit noisier as the recoil echoes inside the hollow lamp and it sounds like a small drum.

The wires arent so clever and eventually break (but you show me a lamp which this doesent happen to!!) so some rewiring could be on the cards.

Other than all that i think its an ok lamp and it does me
