brindlerogue 1
Hi guys Iv noticed my 7 month old deerhound x greyhound has a rather large bones behind his ears/top of his neck, almost like discs. He doesnt seem to be in pain but i imagine a collar may be quiet uncomfortable for him. Is this normal or should i get him looked at? Quote Link to post

chartpolski 28,671
This piqued my interest, so I went straight out and checked the neck of my seven month old first cross deer/grey, and yes, she has what youmention, and so do my other dogs, and they seem more prominent when her head is turned, but it's perfectly natural, nothing to worry about in my opinion One thing about this bitch that Ive noticed is her neck is stronger and more muscular than other "pencil necked" deer crosses I've seen and owned shes never shown any discomfort wearing a collar. If your still in doubt, no harm in consulting a vet. Cheers. 1 Quote Link to post
chartpolski 28,671
I'd guess it's these bones at the top of the neck, just behind the skull you are talking about ? Cheers. Quote Link to post
